LOCATION: (lat. 28°04'37.20" N., long. 82°19'55.20" W.)

Little Blue Sink is located in Hillsborough County, Northeast of Tampa, on private property South of Morris Bridge Rd. A gate (usually locked) at the end of Idlewod Rd. leads to a dirt road, bear left as the road forks and you will pass the sink on your left. Do not take the first left or you will wind up at the house of the Tampa Police Officer who get's to live on the property in exchange for keeping divers off of it. It is also possible to hike/bike in from the Morris Bridge Road Bike Trail, parking is on the South side of Morris Bridge Rd., just East of the Tampa Bay Bypass Canal

DESCRIPTION:

The sink is approx 60' across with it's surface 10' or more down steeply sloping sides. It seems to grow a little wider each year as the sides erode and collapse into the sink. These days the surface water is rarely as blue as it was when the sink was named, but the vis does get better at depth. There is no diveable cave but this is still an overhead environment due to the extreme horizontal slope of the cavern down to a depth of 280'.
